桜丘高校はニュージーランドのダニーデンにあるカイコライバレーカレッジと姉妹校提携をしています。今年で３５年目になります。８月９日から２０日までに中学、高校の生徒１２名がホームステイ、そして研修しに行きました。生徒に感想を書いてもらいましたので紹介します。今回は現地について３日目、４日目の様子です。最後の写真は桜丘高校とカイコライバレーカレッジの３５周年を記念した桜の木の記念植樹の様子です。

 

１３日

～小林くんの感想～

１３日の日はホストファミリーとドライブに行きました、ニュージーランドで有名なラーナック城に行きました。城の風景と庭園の美しさに圧巻されました。夜は現地のKVCの生徒とお土産を買って１日を満喫しました

 

I had a great time studying abroad in New Zealand, and it was a great experience. I went to the castle and I was astonished at the beautiful yard and scenery. Then I went to the town to buy souvenir with the kiwi students.

 

～森さんの感想～

14日はホストファミリーと一緒にラーナック城を回りました。建物も家具も豪華だけれどどこか落ち着いた雰囲気で自分が異世界のお姫様になったような体験ができました。

 

On the 14th, I went around Larnach Castle with my host family. Not only buildings but also furniture are gorgeous. I felt like I was a princess in a story, and it was a lot of fun.

 

～大本さんの感想～

私は11日から13日までの3日間ホストファミリーがクイーンズタウンに連れて行ってくれました。ロープウェイに乗ってクイーンズタウンの景色を見せてくれたり、ホテルではなく初めてキャンピングカーに泊まったり沢山の経験をさせてくれました。

言葉が理解できない時もあったけど優しいホストファミリーがUNOなどで遊んで私を元気づけてくれました。すごく想い出の残る3日間でした。

My host family took me to Queenstown for three days from the 11th to the 13th.

They gave me a lot of experiences, such as riding the ropeway and seeing the scenery of Queenstown, and letting me stay in a camper van for the first time instead of a hotel.

There were times when I couldn't understand the language, but my kind host family cheered me up by playing games like UNO. It was a very memorable 3 days.

～浅野さんの感想～

8月14日の午前はアートクラスと英語の授業を受けました。アートクラスではコラージュやスポンジを使ってニュージーランドにちなんだ作品を仕上げました。午後は鶏の種類を学ぶ授業でKVCのスミス先生が握りつぶすことができないと言われている卵を握り潰してしまい、辺り一面、卵が飛び散るというハプニングがありました。

On August 14th, I took an art class and English class in the morning. In the art class, we used collage and sponges to create a work related to New Zealand. In the afternoon, there was a happening that Mr. Smith, a teacher of KVC crushed the egg in the class to learn the types of chickens, and egg splashed all around the floor.
