桜丘高校はニュージーランドのダニーデンにあるカイコライバレーカレッジと姉妹校提携をしています。今年で３５年目になります。８月９日から２０日までに中学、高校の生徒１２名がホームステイ、そして研修しに行きました。生徒に感想を書いてもらいましたので紹介します。今回は現地について１日目、２日目の様子です。

 

11日

～柿野さんの感想文～

ハニー（ハチミツ）工場に行ってきました。そこでははちみつについて沢山知ることができました。

特に印象的だったのは蜂はオスよりメスの数のほうが多く、冬になるとメスはオスを巣から追い出すか、殺してしまうことです。それを聞いて驚きました。とても楽しい1日でした。

I learned a lot about honey there. I was really impressed with the fact that there are more females than males, and in winter the females kill the males. I was surprised to hear that

１２日

～飯尾くんの感想文～

12日は博物館に行き、NZの歴史や生物の骨、プラネタリウムに様々な種類の蝶を見ました。どれもスケールが違い驚きました。

On the 12th, we went to a museum, learned the history of NZ, and saw the bones of living creatures and various kinds of butterflies. We also enjoyed the planetarium. I was surprised at how different the scales were between Japan and New Zealand.

12日はマーケットに行ってピザやホットドックそして中華料理を食べました。そのあとニュージーランドに唯一のラーナック城や教会などの観光名所を回ったりマオリの博物館へ行ったりしました。博物館ではプラネタリウムを楽しみました。日本との違いがわかる充実した1日でした。

On Saturday the 12th, we went to the market and ate pizza, hot dogs and Chinese food. After that, we visited tourist attractions such as castles and churches, and went to a Maori museum. We also enjoyed a planetarium at the museum. It was a fulfilling day and I could see the difference between Japan and New Zealand.
